September25,1944-August9,2024
Sharon Marie Chamberlin Jackson, 79, departed from this life on Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR. She is survived by her husband of 56 years to the day, Tommy Jackson; a daughter, Lesley (Greg) Bauders of Jonesboro, AR; one grandchild, Annalee Elizabeth Bauders of Jonesboro, AR; a brother, David Chamberlin of Siloam Springs, AR and brother, Steve Chamberlin of Lamar, AR.
She was born on September 25, 1944 in Great Bend, Kansas to Charles and Ruth Chamberlin while Charles was stationed at the Great Bend airfield. Sharon grew up in Iowa with memories of snow drifts higher than parked cars. She graduated from Hampton Community High School in Hampton, Iowa on May 29, 1962. The day after her high school graduation, Sharon and her family moved to Conway, AR where she feared people had no teeth and wore no shoes. Thankfully this fear was largely unfounded and she later would meet the love of her life in, of all places, Arkansas. Sharon went to college at UCA, Hendrix and Ouachita. She played the organ at Second Baptist Church in Conway, AR and this is where she met her beloved Tommy. Tommy and Sharon married at Second Baptist Conway on August 9, 1968.
Sharon epitomized a Southern lady of grace, gentleness and elegance even though she was not Southern by birth. There was no one more devoted to her family than Sharon, who somehow managed to balance laundry, cooking, ironing and all things domestic while working full time outside of the home, mostly at Harding Press as a token Baptist. She was intelligent, conscientious and hardworking and her strong grammatical skills made her excellent in her work as a typesetter.
Sharon was nurturing by nature and loving her family came easily to her. She enjoyed traveling with Tommy, primarily to Branson to see various country music shows. Sharon was a good sport, enduring sometimes merciless teasing from her family for her infamous ''shortcuts'' which were never short. Never one to call attention to herself, Sharon was the glue and backbone of her family.
Sharon loved the Lord Jesus and primarily attended First Baptist Church of Searcy and Conway Cowboy Church during her adult years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 1:00 pm followed by memorial service at 2:00 pm, both at Roller-Daniel in Searcy, AR. Commitment service will follow at White County Memorial Gardens with Greg Bauders, David Chamberlin, Steve Chamberlin, Rick Baldwin, Jim Pidco*ck and Rodger Gilliam serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Garey Sublett, David Evans, Justin Brooks, Caleb Freeman, Duane Allen and John Sievert.

Tommy and Leslie, we are so very sorry for the loss of Sharon. She will always be remembered by our family . Her laugh and sweet smile embedded in our hearts always. May you ring comfort in days to come knowing she was loved by many and is in her heavenly home. I sure hope my daddy said hello to her already.

My heart is broken. We have shared so many wonderful memories through the years with Sharon, Tommy, and Lesley—so many vacations, restaurants, ball games, and laughs since we first met in 1975. Sharon loved to go on our day trips to the Ozarks to see the fall foliage. We will miss you—my dear friend. You really mattered.

A woman who was devoted: to her family and friends, and especially to her God. She was quiet but never missed a thing. So grateful for having the opportunity over the past couple of years to spend time, have lunch or dinner and visit this very special lady.
